This is Bonnie

This is Bonnie. My brother took his kitten to the vet for his shots and came home with her in the carrier along with his kitten because the vet said they were going to put her to sleep if he didn't take her.
She was the ugliest kitten I have ever seen, with gray-black-mud-brown fur sticking up in tufts every which way, huge, taxi-cab yellow pop eyes, and ears that stuck straight out (because of ear-mites). We came very close to naming her 'Yoda', but I felt that if she had a name that meant 'pretty' she might live up to it.
Bonnie is left-handed, and likes to pick her dry food out of the bowl one crunchy at a time because she hates to let her whiskers touch the bowl. She knows one 'word'. When her water bowl is empty, she will come to me, tug at my trouser leg and say 'waawaa'. She came up with that on her own.
Bonnie is a flirt. She loves men she doesn't know and runs up to meet any male company we have, including repairmen. Once we had a married couple as guests and I'd put little cocktail umbrellas in their drinks. Bonnie went to the husband and flirted with him outrageously, playing with his umbrella and making herself adorable just for him and totally ignoring the man's wife, and us.

This is Tara. She was born in our front yard, and looked like a gray and
white kitty because she was so tiny none of her orange patches had room to show. I saw three orange hairs on the back of her neck so I knew she was a calico.

She's named for the mansion that was burned in Gone With the Wind, because her white back legs look like the pillars of the house, and her coat is mingled smoke and flames.

Tara likes chasing bugs, but prefers not to catch them. She likes to sit up and wave her right paw for dinner (she's right-handed). She also likes to sit on my lap when I'm at the computer- especially if I have my backmassaging pillow on, because she thinks it's purring at her, and she purrs back.
