Morgana & Mozza
This is Morgana
Morgana is almost 13 years old. That's about 65
years old in human years. But don't tell her that. She's convinced she's
still a kitten & a rascally one at that. She's never been sick a day in her
life & hasn't even had an off day. She's tiny, slim, very active, & full of
in-your-face attitude but she's also unbelievably sweet & cuddly. When I
pick her up to snuggle, she loves being held high on my shoulder so she can
look about. She rubs her cheeks against mine & purrs up a storm. Life would
be dull without her.
Morgana is an indoor kitty who gets to go outside in warmer weather when I'm
out gardening. She has such attitude that it's scary & why she only goes out
with me around. I was gardening near our sidewalk when a friendly neighbour
came by with his dog. The dog was only half-grown & already very big. He's a
cross between a mastiff & wolf but extremely gentle & well trained. As I was
chatting with the neighbour, his dog sitting obediently next to him, I look
over since I heard something & there's my Morgana, puffed to double size,
growling intensely & trying to stalk his dog! I had to stop & scoop her up
to take her inside. As if she'd be a match for a dog that size! I wouldn't
call her fearless so much as insane. - Judy & Morgana
and this is Mozza
This is my boy cat, Mozza, . He's as warped as
Morgana but in a different way. He's timid with anything new or strange but
around Morgana, he thinks he's top cat. Not that she lets him be!
He's a year older than Morgana at almost 14 years old (68-69 years in human
years) but he's no slouch either. His only concession to growing older is he
sleeps a little more but still races about the place, leaping from one high
place to another, chases Morgana, & stalks the birds & squirrels outside.
He's got more street smarts than Morgana so is allowed out more.
His quirk is his love of raw green beans. Morgana eats them too but not with
the relish Mozza does. He thinks they're 'cat candy'. He's well known by
friends & neighbours for his appetite for beans. He'll dig through groceries
when I bring them home, looking for his treats. You'll usually find fresh
green beans in my fridge all year round just for him. He'll eat 8 or more at
one time while Morgana will only eat 2 or 3 at most. People are amazed when
they see how enthusiastically he eats them. If he's ever outside & won't
come in, all I have to do is shout "Mozza - BEANS!!" & you'll never see a
cat run so fast inside for his treat. I think the addition of raw green
beans has helped keep him so healthy & is one reason why neither ever coughs
up hairballs. - Judy & Mozza
